Egyptian Producer Hisham Kharma Official Music Theme Composer at COP27
With an emphasis on hope, Hisham Kharma devoted the last three weeks to composing music everyone can relate to at COP27.
Hisham Kharma – the Egyptian music producer known for his work on sci-fi series ‘Al Nehaya’ and docu-film ‘Come to Egypt’, which premiered during the Pharaohs’ Golden Parade – is pushing the boundaries of his already expansive list of achievements by becoming the composer for the official music theme at the UN Conference for Climate Change, COP27.
“I was inspired to make a tune that stirs hope, and reflects the impressive unison of humanity to protect our world,” Hisham Kharma tells Cairo Scene. “I wanted the music to sound international, so I recorded the chanting vocals with renowned cinematic Italian Vocalist, Clara Sorace, who has worked on productions like Assassin’s Creed and Le Casa de Papel, but I made sure to inject our own Arabic signature by adding the Oud and Kawala instruments.”
