Emergency Plans Activated at Qasr Al-Aini Hospitals for Gaza Injuries
The President of Cairo University announced plans at Qasr Al-Aini Hospitals to receive and treat injured Palestinians from Gaza.
Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, President of Cairo University, has announced the activation of comprehensive emergency plans at the university’s Qasr Al-Aini Hospitals to provide urgent medical care to those injured in Gaza.
Dr. Abdel Sadiq’s announcement follows his participation in a high-level delegation led by Dr. Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to inspect the Rafah border crossing. The delegation, which also included university presidents and members of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, visited the site to ensure the preparedness of the crossing to receive the wounded from Gaza.
The Cairo University President emphasised that the university’s hospitals are fully equipped to manage the expected influx of patients. Emergency plans have been activated across all hospital departments, with operating rooms prepared for urgent procedures, while emergency and intensive care units are ready to accommodate the incoming cases.
Additionally, medical and technical kits are on hand to ensure round-the-clock care, along with the necessary medicines and supplies.
Cairo University’s medical staff, including specialists and highly trained nursing teams, are also on standby to provide comprehensive care. Dr. Abdel Sadiq highlighted the university's commitment to offering not only medical assistance but also psychological and moral support to the injured. The university’s administration is coordinating closely with relevant authorities to facilitate the swift transfer of casualties from Gaza and ensure they receive immediate care upon arrival.
