Environmental Art Project ‘Maskbook’ Comes to Egypt for COP27

Creative solutions have been an essential tool to combat climate change, and artists around the world have been using their talent to bring environmental issues to light. Art of Change 21, a global non-profit initiative that has been making art out of waste scraps to raise awareness on climate change, is bringing their creative efforts to Egypt to take part in COP27.

Art of Change 21 has drawn thousands of volunteers to pour their artistic visions into uniquely designed upcycled masks as part of their unique ‘Maskbook’ project. ‘Maskbook’ was kickstarted in tandem with the COP21 in Paris in 2015, and has since brought in artwork by over ten thousand participants from more than 40 countries.

This year, Art of Change 21 partnered up with local Egyptian organisations and creative hubs including GreenishEg, Photopia, and Very Nile. Maskbook will be holding a series of workshops in Egypt, encouraging Egyptians to apply and then display their creations at COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh this November.
