Financial Aid Expanded in Saudi for Individuals With Disabilities
The initiative aims to improve access to education, healthcare, and daily support services across the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has launched an expanded financial aid programme to support individuals with disabilities, aiming to improve access to education, healthcare, and daily living services.
The financial assistance targets Saudi nationals and permanent residents whose disabilities fall within the programme’s classifications. Applicants must be registered with the Ministry, be under the age of 45 at the time their condition was recorded, and have a monthly income not exceeding SAR 4,000. Additional conditions include not residing in health institutions for more than six months annually and not currently receiving housing services from the Ministry.
Eligible disabilities include motor impairments such as quadriplegia and hemiplegia, sensory conditions like vision or hearing loss, intellectual disabilities from mild to severe, and multiple disabilities that affect daily functioning.
Applications are submitted online via the Ministry’s website. Applicants must create an account, access the electronic services portal, fill in the financial aid form, and upload supporting documents including a valid medical report and proof of identity. Applicants can track the status of their submissions digitally.
Beyond financial support, the initiative also provides a range of complementary services. These include access to day care centres for individuals with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, vocational rehabilitation programmes to enhance employment opportunities, tailored healthcare services, and inclusive education initiatives that integrate children with disabilities into public schools.
The programme is designed to promote independence and improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, while contributing to a more inclusive society in line with Saudi Arabia’s broader development goals.
