First Phase of El Moez Street Signage Project Complete

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in partnership with the UNESCO office in Cairo, has completed the first phase of the El Moez Street Signage Project, which aims to bring to life the archaeological sites registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List along the iconic El Moez Street in Cairo. 

The newly installed signage serves as more than just signposts; it weaves a narrative that connects visitors with the depth of Egypt's heritage, offering an immersive and educational experience.

The first phase of the project involved the design, execution and installation of 40 informative and directional panels across 14 archaeological sites on El Moez Street. These panels not only provide historical context but also incorporate QR codes for digital exploration, enabling visitors to delve deeper into the architectural wonders and historical significance of each location.

In addition to the informative signage, the project has also enhanced the overall visitor experience. Sunshades, seats and recycle bins have been installed along the street, while slopes and pathways have been created to ensure accessibility for visitors with disabilities.
