Gharbia Youth Centre Named After Olympic Champion Ahmed El Gendy
Following his gold medal win at the Paris 2024 Olympics, El Gendy is being celebrated in his hometown.

Following a decision by Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Ashraf Sobhy, the Basyoun Youth Center in Mashal, Gharbia will be named after national Olympic champion Ahmed El Gendy. The decision looks to honour the athlete in his hometown after he won a gold medal in the Men’s Pentathlon event at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The town of Mashal is currently organising an official visit by El Gendy to celebrate his victory.
