Hana Goda Secures Historic Bronze at World Table Tennis Championship
Hana Gouda previously won silver in Under-15 Singles (2021), and gold in Women's and Mixed Doubles at the 2021 and 2022 World Championships.
Egyptian table tennis star Hana Gouda has made history by winning the bronze medal at the World Table Tennis Championship for Under-19 Girls, held in Sweden. With this achievement, Gouda becomes the first Egyptian, Arab, and African player to secure a medal in this age category at the prestigious global competition.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, congratulated the 18-year-old athlete on her remarkable achievement stating, "This victory reflects the tremendous effort Hana has put into her training and the country's commitment to nurturing its emerging sports stars.”
This isn't the first time Gouda has made a mark on the international stage. In 2021, she claimed the silver medal in the Under-15 Girls Singles event at the World Championship. That same year, she also earned gold in Women's Doubles and continued her winning streak with another gold in Mixed Doubles at the 2022 World Championship in the same age category.
