The Emirate of Sharjah has initiated a new health insurance programme aimed at citizens aged 45 and above who currently lack coverage. The programme is expected to benefit around 8,000 people, with an estimated cost of AED 80 million.
Under the programme, those insured will receive medical treatment at the University Hospital Sharjah. Eligible citizens will be notified via SMS with an electronic link to register for coverage.
This initiative marks a critical step in providing essential healthcare services to Sharjah’s older population, ensuring that more residents have access to necessary medical care.
