ITF J1 Tennis Contest to Be Held in Sharm El Sheikh for the First Time

After the International Tennis Federation (ITF) gave Egypt the right to organise the IFT J1, the high-level global juniors' championship is set to arrive in Sharm El Sheikh.

Although Egypt has hosted other levels of ITF's junior competitions - with two J4 events scheduled for March 21st to March 27th and March 28th to April 3rd in Cairo - this would be the first time the nation will host the J1 event, the second highest level of competition available to junior tennis athletes right below JA, which includes the junior Grand Slam. The levels for the junior competitions go from JA to J1, J2, J3, J4 and J5, with J5 being the lowest grade.

The IFT J1 is scheduled to take place in the second half of September.
