Ismailia's Stray Dogs are Getting Vaccinated Against Rabies

In an effort to eradicate rabies, the Ministry of Agriculture has launched a governorate-wide campaign to vaccinate stray dogs in Ismailia.

Besides vaccinating the dogs, the campaign also involves the collection of disease specimens for laboratory testing and to map areas with increased risk of rabies. It also includes awareness campaigns, to teach communities how to avoid dog bites, report suspected cases, and safely handle animal wounds.

This program is expected to be replicated in all Egyptian governorates.
