Japanese-Italian Restaurant Osteria Funkcoolio Opens in Dubai
Located at Port De La Mer, the restaurant is an intimate venue that will accommodate just 30 guests.
Known for his inventive Japanese cuisine, Dubai-based Chef Akmal Anuar is turning his attention to Italian cuisine for his latest venture, Osteria Funkcoolio, in Port De La Mer. The newly opened restaurant serves Itameshi creations which the chef describes as a collision of Italian cuisine and the best of Japanese Kyoto ingredients, within an intimate venue that will accommodate just 30 guests.
Chef Anuar is an experimental chef from Singapore known for creating homegrown concepts that have received much critical acclaim, such as 3 Fils, which ranked at number one in the Middle East and North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2022, as well as 11 Woodfire, a Michelin star restaurant offering flavours from traditional woodfire cooking techniques.
