Journalists Syndicate Conference to Honour Palestinian Press
The opening ceremony will feature speeches by Palestinian journalists Nasser Abu Bakr and Rula al-Durrah.
From December 14th to the 16th, the Journalists Syndicate in Egypt will host the sixth edition of their general conference. Held under the theme of 'Palestine Edition: A Path to Change', the opening ceremony will be presented by renowned anchor Gamal El-Shaer and will pay tribute to the Palestinian journalists who have been surviving or were martyred amidst tIsrael’s genocidal assault on Gaza and the West Bank.
The ceremony will also feature speeches by Nasser Abu Bakr, head of Palestine's journalist syndicate, and Rula al-Durrah, Palestinian journalist, alongside Khaled El-Balshy, head of Egypt's Journalist Syndicate, Wahid Abdel Meguid, the secretary-general of the conference, and Anthony Bellanger, secretary-general of the International Federation of Journalists.
The evening will come to a close with a performance by the Palestinian Sunflower Choir, who will recite pieces that celebrate Palestinian heritage and resistance.
The conference will begin proper the following morning, with roundtable discussions and expert panels discussing all aspects of Egyptian journalism, from press freedom and legislative frameworks to the everyday challenges of the job.
