'Lifeboats' Initiative Looks to Address Illegal Immigration
The new campaign is an extension of the ‘Lifeboats’ Presidential Initiative to raise awareness about illegal immigration and to provide safe alternatives for young people.

From April 16th to April 23rd, the Ministry of Expatriate Affairs is carrying out a door-to-door campaign in Qena and Luxor to address illegal immigration.
The new campaign is an extension of the ‘Lifeboats’ Presidential Initiative to raise awareness about illegal immigration, focusing on the governorates with the highest rates of illegal immigration and providing safe alternatives for young people.
The National Council for Women (NCW) is also participating in the campaign, emphasising the importance of women in deterring youth in their homes from illegal migration and encouraging them to look for safe labour prospects within the country.
The NCW is holding training sessions for 100 female leaders in advance of the campaign's debut, to introduce alternatives for secure job possibilities within Egypt.
