Mall of the Emirates to Undergo $1.3 Billion Expansion
The renovation will add 20,000 square meters of retail space, making room for 100 new luxury, fashion, and lifestyle stores.

Majid Al Futtaim is set to transform Mall of the Emirates with a AED 5 billion (around USD 1.3 billion) investment, marking the iconic Dubai destination’s 20th anniversary with major upgrades across retail, wellness, culture, and dining.
The redevelopment will add 20,000 square metres of space, introducing 100 new stores spanning luxury, fashion, and lifestyle. Among the highlights are the upcoming SEVEN Wellness Club at the Kempinski Hotel, a new indoor-outdoor precinct for dining and entertainment, and a 600-seat theatre called New Covent Garden in collaboration with Dubai Performing Arts Academy.
VOX Cinemas has already introduced what it calls the world’s most advanced IMAX experience, with four more entertainment concepts expected by late 2026. The first outdoor F&B courtyard, designed to become a green space in cooler months, is scheduled to open in early 2027.
The expansion also includes a complete revamp of the West End district and infrastructure improvements in partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority.
Finally, sustainability will be central to the redesign, with energy-efficient tech and smart systems integrated throughout.
