Marriage Procedures Halted for Citizens With Untreated Hepatitis C
So far around 16 million citizens have been screened, with the Ministry of Health achieving a 95% cure rate against Hepatitis C.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has announced that they will suspend marriage procedures for citizens diagnosed with Hepatitis C until they have been proven to be cured.
Hepatitis C screening has been included as a precondition for premarital procedures in order to prevent further transmission of the disease. Around 16 million citizens have been screened, with the ministry having achieved a cure rate of 95% of those testing positive for the disease thus far.
