The tower will form part of the 135 kilometre Sports Boulevard on Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Road.
Authorities in Saudi Arabia have approved proposals for the building of a ‘Global Sports Tower’ in Riyadh. The 130 metre tall structure will host facilities for 30 different sports, and will become part of the 135 kilometre Sports Boulevard on Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Road.
With a design inspired by modernist Salmani architecture, the Global Sports Tower will contain the world's highest climbing wall standing at 98 metres, as well as a 250 metre running track with views of the Riyadh skyline.
At completion, the Sports Boulevard will include 4.4 million square metres of greenery as well as up to 50 different sporting facilities for runners, cyclists, athletes and horse riders.
