The Mosque and Mausoleum of Al-Fadl Ibn Al-Abbassi, also known as Sidi Shible Al-Aswad, has reopened its doors to worshippers and visitors after a two-year restoration project.
Located at Martyr Town in the governorate of Menoufia, the mosque and mausoleum had been affected by air pollution, high subsoil water levels and encroachment over the centuries, leading to structural damage. The restoration effort focused on preserving the original architectural features, including one Mameluke-style minaret at the northwestern corner and the remnants of another minaret at the southeastern corner.
