Minimum Age Set at 15 for Hajj Pilgrims in 2025
In cases where a registered pilgrim under 15 is unable to attend, the policy allows for substitution with a pre-registered pilgrim.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that individuals must be at least 15 years old to participate in this year's Hajj pilgrimage. This measure aims to ensure the health and safety of children during the pilgrimage. The age requirement will be verified based on the birth date recorded in each pilgrim's passport.
In cases where a registered pilgrim under 15 is unable to attend, the policy allows for substitution with a pre-registered pilgrim. If applicable, the accompanying guardian may also be substituted. In cases like group bookings or special registration categories, guardians are sometimes registered specifically to accompany a child. If the child is unable to attend, the guardian’s registration may also be affected, allowing for possible adjustments. This regulation applies to both government and privately registered pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj season.
This decision was executed especially as pilgrim numbers return to pre-pandemic levels.
