The Ministry of Awqaf has announced the suspension of the Tahajod (non-obligatory night prayers) and I'tikaf (solitary retreat in mosques) during the final 10 days of Ramadan, citing precautionary measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ministry also stated that mosques will be closed after Taraweeh prayers until dawn, which only take place in big mosques and would last 30 minutes directly after Isha' prayers, and urged people of faith to continue their prayers at home.
On another note, women's sections have been allowed to open under certain regulations, including the presence of a supervisor to ensure social distancing.
