The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has announced that Egypt has not been affected by the recent global IT outage caused by a defective software update from CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity firm with thousands of global customers. The ministry assured that all Egyptian airports, ports, government banks, mobile banking services, government service platforms, and communication systems are operating normally.
Earlier today, reports of outages began streaming in globally, affecting various sectors. The outage disrupted services worldwide, impacting airports, banks, hospitals, media outlets, and businesses. The Ministry continues to monitor the situation closely through the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA).
