Ministry of Health: Life Expectancy in Saudi Rises to 77.6 Years Old
A report by the Ministry of Health details significant health-related achievements during 2023.
A recent report released by the Saudi Ministry of Health details significant achievements of the Health Sector Transformation Program during 2023, most notably an increase in the average life expectancy in the Kingdom, which now sits at 77.6 years.
The improvement is thought to be the result of a series of health initiatives, including the promotion of walking culture, reduction of salt in foods, calorie disclosure, and broad efforts to enhance healthcare services nationwide, which now reach 96.41% of the population.
Other accomplishments detailed in the report include an increase in patient satisfaction from 82.41% to 87.45%, as well as an increase in the number of qualified nursing staff from 581.6 to 733 per 100,000 residents.
