Motorsport Showdown Underway at Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge
The competition will feature 114 vehicles, with 96 vying for world championship points.

From February 21st to the 27th, the 34th Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge - the second round of the 2025 World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) - will see 114 vehicles tear through the desert dunes, with 96 vying for world championship points.
The event will commence with a prologue, followed by five stages covering approximately 1,189 kilometres of special stages, and nearly 2,000 kilometres in total distance. For the first time, the rally will start in Al Ain and conclude in Abu Dhabi.
Notable participants in the Rally GP class include Daniel Sanders of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, who leads the championship after his victory in the 2025 Dakar Rally, and Adrien Van Beveren of Monster Energy Honda HRC, the 2023 Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge winner.
The 2025 W2RC calendar comprises five events: the Dakar Rally (January 3rd–17th), Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge (February 21st–27th), South African Safari Rally (May 18th–24th), BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal (September 22nd–28th), and Rallye du Maroc (October 10th–17th).
The Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, established in 1991 by Mohammed Ben Sulayem, is organised by the Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO).
