The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced a national policy to tackle forced labour, improve workplace safety, and create fairer working conditions in the Kingdom.
The National Policy focuses on three key areas: preventing forced labour, protecting victims, and providing support. Among the policy's initiatives is the provision of legal, social, and economic assistance for victims, aimed at aiding their recovery and preventing re-victimisation.
Saudi Arabia also plans to commit to greater coordination at the national, regional, and international levels to strengthen efforts against forced labour, working closely with organisations like the International Labour Organization (ILO).
