New Dress Code Directive for Women Umrah Visitors Goes Into Effect
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has provided specifications outlining clothing choices for women participating in the pilgrimage.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has introduced a dress code directive for female attendees of the Umrah pilgrimage.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has provided specifications outlining appropriate clothing choices for women participating in the pilgrimage, emphasising that while women pilgrims have the autonomy to choose their wardrobe for the Umrah, it is mandatory for them to adhere to the established criteria. The guidelines state that clothing should be wide and loose-fitting, devoid of decorative elements, and must cover the entire body.
According to the ministry’s announcement on social media, the objective behind this dress code directive is to “ensure that the sanctity of the locations visited during the pilgrimage is respected.”
