New Electric Buses Roll Up in Sharm El Sheikh Ahead of COP27
Sharm El Sheikh's new buses are exclusively powered by electricity, and are equipped with handicap access and air conditioning.
They may be blue and pink with cute yellow accents, but these buses are all green, baby. New electric buses can now be spotted in Sharm El Sheikh, as the South Sinai resort city prepares to host the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference this November.
Provided by the Ministry of Transport, these buses are exclusively powered by electricity, and are equipped with handicap access and air conditioning.
Starting last March, the ministry has been working alongside multiple companies to give public transportation in Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh a complete green makeover. They plan on providing charging and maintenance stations for approximately 300 electric and natural gas-powered buses across the Nabq and Ruwaisat areas.
