New Four-Lane Tunnel Opens on Umm Suqeim Street in Dubai
An 800-metre tunnel has opened on Umm Suqeim Street, improving east-west traffic flow as part of a larger 16km corridor upgrade in Dubai.
A new four-lane tunnel has opened on Umm Suqeim Street in Dubai, marking a key milestone in the city’s ongoing efforts to improve east-west connectivity. The 800-metre tunnel runs between the intersection with Al Khail Road and the intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, forming part of a wider 4.6-kilometre development project along Umm Suqeim Street.
The infrastructure works include a newly upgraded intersection at Umm Suqeim Street and Al Barsha South Street, located near Kings’ School. This intersection now features both a signalised surface-level crossing and the newly constructed tunnel. The improvements are designed to enhance traffic flow and reduce congestion across one of the city’s major arterial routes.
