‘New Media’ Program Launched in Support of Rising Saudi Artists
The program will help fund and educate emerging artists on such art forms as digital art, virtual reality and 3D printing.
Applications are now open for the Saudi Ministry of Culture's Emerging New Media Artists program. Set to take place at the soon-to-open Diriyah Art Futures centre, the program will provide regional artists with state-of-the-art equipment, financing and multidisciplinary learning opportunities to help their rise in the art world, including personal mentorship from some of the most eminent digital artists around.
The Emerging New Media Arts program is part of a partnership between the Ministry of Culture and Diriyah Co., the entity behind Diriyah Art Futures centre. The centre will be the world's first hub for new media creatives, covering a wide range of practices that use technology and interactive experiences to create new forms of art. The program will cover digital art, AI, virtual and augmented reality, sound art, 3D printing, cinema, animation and more.
Applicants need to be under 35 years old, and have a degree that shows they have some experience with digital art. Applications can be sent to the Diriyah Art Futures official website.
