New Ministry Programme Supports Nonprofit Skills Development
From Riyadh to Jouf, Saudi nonprofits are getting a practical boost in everything from strategic planning to financial knowhow—26 workshops aim to sharpen real-world impact

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has launched a new training programme targeting nonprofit organisations across Saudi Arabia. The programme consists of 26 workshops spread across 11 regions, and is designed to improve day-to-day operations in civil associations.
Riyadh, the Eastern Province, and the Makkah region will each host eight workshops, while Madinah and Asir will hold four. Six more workshops are scheduled in Tabuk, Qassim, Jazan, Hail, Jouf, and the Northern Borders. The ministry is aiming for accessibility, offering sessions throughout the Kingdom.
Sessions will tackle practical subjects such as how to establish foundations and civil associations, build partnerships, navigate strategic planning, governance models, financial sustainability, marketing, and how to promote professional volunteering.
The programme is part of a push to sharpen the technical and managerial abilities of those working in the nonprofit space, supporting their ability to deliver long-term value. The initiative feeds into Saudi Arabia’s ongoing transformation, in which the nonprofit sector is expected to play a more visible role in addressing social needs, building community programmes, and creating employment paths within the third sector.
