New Report Reveals 100% of Saudis Use the Internet
Statistics show every adult in the Kingdom uses the internet at least once every three months.
Saudi Arabia is at the vanguard of global internet penetration, alongside several other Arab countries including Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, according to the latest figures from World Bank Open Data. Recently published statistics show that, in all of these countries, a staggering 100% of the adult population uses the internet at least once every three months.
The penetration of technology across the globe now means that in certain countries, the internet and devices that use it are truly all-pervasive. As an example, amongst Saudi Arabia’s steadily increasing population of 35 million, there are 46 million mobile phones used within the country.
Global internet penetration is now estimated to include 5.35 billion users worldwide, amounting to 66.2% of the world’s population. Generally, African countries are the furthest behind the global curve; internet access in Burundi and the Central African Republic is estimated at 9.4% and 10.4% respectively.
