New Zealand's Largest Ancient Egypt Exhibit Opens at Auckland Museum
The ‘Egypt: In the Time of Pharaohs’ exhibition includes over 350 objects that showcase daily life in ancient Egyptian society.
‘Egypt: In the Time of Pharaohs’, an ongoing exhibit in Auckland Museum, is the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts to be put on display in New Zealand with more than 350 objects that showcase daily life in ancient Egyptian society, including scale models, replicas and interactive displays.
Many of the artefacts date back 5,000 years, while visitors are given the opportunity to use special displays powered by modern technology to learn more about various aspects of Egyptian life - for example, by learning how to write hieroglyphics by writing directly on a digital screen.
The exhibition is currently open to the public and will run until November 2023.
