Parisian Peruvian-Fusion Restaurant Manko is Opening in Jeddah
Triple fusion: a temple of Asian-Peruvian cuisine coming all the way from Paris to Jeddah.
We’re far from tired of Asian-fusion cuisine in Saudi Arabia - there’s always some new combination we haven’t had a chance to try. Intriguing us with its own fusion of Asian and Peruvian cuisines, Manko has flown into Jeddah from Paris to tantalise taste buds on the ever-fashionable Tahlia Street.
With branches in Paris, Saint Tropez, Doha and Athens, Manko features upscale and elegant interiors that reflect the essence of Peruvian culture, the occasional jazzy live music night, as well as a curated menu committed to blending fresh ingredients with unique Asian and South American spices.
Manko’s menu is diverse and enigmatic. Try their Nigiri Cebichero, a classic fish-of-the-day nigiri topped with fresh and tangy Peruvian cebichera sauce, avocado mousse and fruity chalaquita. Or if that’s not to your taste, you can sample their Bao Thai, crispy prawns marinated in sweet and lemony melcocha sauce, drizzled with Japanese Nikkei sauce, and wrapped up in a fluffy Chinese bao bun. And for dessert, you can take on their rice pudding with mascarpone cream, dulce de leche, caramelised banana, chicha morada crispy paper and chai latte ice cream.
Manko is open late every day (until 2 AM on weekdays and 3 AM on weekends), so if dinner isn’t your thing, it could be your next spot for an experimental mocktail or two at the end of the night.
