Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has given a presidential order to ramp up support for families impacted by severe weather and flooding across the UAE, as well as launch an urgent review of the country’s infrastructure.
These orders come in the aftermath of the heaviest storm recorded in the history of the UAE. Some Dubai Metro stations have been forced to shut down, while Dubai International Airport continues to suffer from severe disruption with over 1,000 flights already cancelled.
As part of these directives, affected families will be transferred to safe locations in cooperation with local authorities.
