Public Holiday for Prophet Muhammad's Birthday Announced September 5th

The Federal Authority of Human Resources announced that Friday, September 5th will be an official public sector holiday in celebration of Mawlid al-Nabi.

The date marks the 12th day of Rabi Al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The birth of the Prophet is traditionally celebrated on this day every year.

This federal government announcement follows the sighting of the crescent moon of Rabi Al-Awwal, marking the beginning the month.
