The government of Qatar will invest USD 1.5 billion into Egypt’s industrial sector, and plans to eventually invest USD 5 billion in Egypt’s economy.

The investment will allow the trade exchange between the two countries to flourish further, with 2022 witnessing a growth rate of 47%, while 2021 saw a growth rate of 72.8%, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The announcement was made during the Egyptian-Qatari Economic Investment Forum, which also witnessed Qatari business enterprise Al-Mana Group’s decision to invest more than USD 60 million in Egypt's economy in 2024.

Qatar is currently the third largest Arab state investing in Egypt, having made up to USD 20 billion in investments in more than 160 companies.
