Barefoot Luxury at Our Habitas Ras Abrouq on Qatar's Western Coast

Ras Abrouq is not an easy place to describe.

It lies on the western coast of Qatar, a stretch of land where the desert dissolves into the Arabian Gulf and where the air feels sharper, quieter, untouched. It is part of the Al Reem biosphere reserve, a UNESCO-protected expanse where limestone cliffs rise like monuments and herds of gazelles move unbothered through the sand.

This is where Our Habitas, the wellness brand known for its thoughtful retreats, has chosen to build its latest venture.

An hour’s drive from Doha, it is far enough from the city to seem otherworldly, yet not so remote as to feel unreachable.

The villas—42 in total—are scattered across the landscape with an almost casual elegance, each offering partial or uninterrupted views of the Gulf. They are built for privacy, with plunge pools tucked into their decks and walls that seem to lean into the breeze. Inside, wicker trays hang on plaster walls, and the sliding doors open to a horizon that is equal parts sky and sea.

Inside Ras Abrouq’s crowning jewel, Lula Villa, wicker trays and carpets hang on the walls, swayed ever so lightly by the gentle ocean breeze coming through the sliding doors. Outside on the patio, the view of the sunset is reminiscent of a master artist's brushstrokes, painting the sky in hues of red and gold, as the horizon embraces the day's last kiss of light.

At Our Habitas Ras Abrouq, the thrill of kitesurfing and the tranquillity of stand-up paddle board yoga come together with land-bound adventures such as mountain biking, desert expeditions, and invigorating hikes.

Ras Abrouq is also a place of rejuvenation, where visitors can relax with serene sunrise yoga, revitalising breathwork, and celestial sound ceremonies under the resplendent starry skies.

Qissa, the heart of this sanctuary, offers a farm-to-table culinary journey, where guests commune over delectable dishes crafted from locally-sourced, farm-fresh ingredients.

Be it the indoor elegance or the open-air vistas, every space encapsulates breathtaking panoramas of the ocean and the mesmerising evening sunsets, cultivating an ambiance of sheer splendour. In Ras Abrouq, time slows down, inviting travellers to immerse themselves in a world of sheer magical repose and unparalleled natural beauty.
