School students and people travelling for Hajj and Umrah have been added to the UAE’s priority groups for seasonal influenza vaccination as health authorities expand the 2026–27 national campaign.
The updated list was announced during the launch of the Awareness Campaign on Influenza and Seasonal Respiratory Diseases.
Other priority groups include pregnant women, children aged six months and above, elderly people, healthcare workers and individuals with chronic health conditions.
Health officials said the campaign is intended to increase vaccination uptake among people at greater risk of complications from seasonal respiratory illnesses.
Vaccines have already been distributed across healthcare facilities nationwide, while vaccination and awareness efforts are also under way in schools.
Emirates Health Services said influenza vaccines are available across all 121 of its facilities as authorities prepare for the seasonal increase in respiratory infections.
