Two Etihad Rail Passenger Stations Planned for Dubai
Al Yalayis has been confirmed as one station, while the location of the second Etihad Rail passenger stop has yet to be disclosed.
Etihad Rail’s national passenger network is expected to include two stations in Dubai, with Al Yalayis confirmed as one location and the second yet to be disclosed.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, said the national passenger service could include two Dubai stops, while the separate Dubai–Abu Dhabi high-speed train will have stations at Al Maktoum International Airport and Al Jaddaf.
Both rail systems are intended to connect with the Dubai Metro, allowing passengers to continue journeys across the city through multiple Metro lines.
Al Tayer said Etihad Rail will play the main role in linking the emirate with other cities across the UAE, while the Roads and Transport Authority is coordinating with the railway company to ensure the local transport network supports the national projects.
The planned Metro connections are intended to link the railway stations with residential areas, business districts and other destinations across Dubai.
