Railway Law Offenders Could Face Fines of SAR 10 Million

The Saudi Arabian government has announced that violators of the Railway Law and its Executive Regulations could face fines of up to SAR 10 million. The Committee for Reviewing Violations will assess penalties based on the severity and type of each violation. Repeat offenders could incur fines as high as SAR 20 million.

The regulations encompass a range of offences, including unauthorised use of railway facilities, improper vehicle parking and trespassing on railway premises. Additional violations involve obstructing railway views, constructing unauthorised structures and damaging railway infrastructure. Actions that endanger railway safety, such as causing train collisions or derailments through negligence, will also be met with penalties.
