Saudi Arabia Targets Vaccine Production & Smart Health Coach Program
The smart health-coach application will be integrated in partnership with Google.
At the 8th Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh, the Ministry of Health announced new initiatives aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s healthcare infrastructure, including the localisation of vaccine manufacturing and the upcoming deployment of a smart health-coach application in partnership with Google.
The localisation plan will be led by Saudi Pharmaceutical Investment Company (Lifera) in collaboration with global pharmaceutical firms, supporting the domestic production of multiple vaccines.
The smart health-coach will be integrated into the national Sehhaty platform and enable users to receive personalised health advice through mobile interactions.
These developments align with broader health sector targets stated during the exhibition, including a 40% reduction in chronic-disease mortality and increasing life expectancy from 74 years in 2016 to 79 years in 2025.
