Saudi Arabia's FIFA World Cup Bid Includes 15 Stadiums Across 5 Cities

Following Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034 on July 29th, 2024, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has disclosed further details of the Kingdom’s grand plan.

The bid book details five proposed host cities for the FIFA World Cup 2034: Jeddah, Riyadh, Al Khobar, Abha and NEOM. There will be 15 advanced stadiums across the country, as well as 10 training camp locations,132 training venues and 10 FIFA Fan Festival sites.

The Kingdom plans to unveil 11 new stadiums as part of their hosting plan, including Riyadh’s 92,000-seating King Salman Stadium, which is expected to be completed in 2029 and will host the opening and final matches. The NEOM Stadium, situated within THE LINE project, will operate entirely on renewable energy.

Across 10 training camp locations, which showcases the Kingdom’s diverse geography, Saudi Arabia will provide 230,000 rooms, meeting FIFA’s room requirements. The FIFA Fan Festival sites are set to be dispersed in rousing destinations across the five host cities, such as King Salman Park in Riyadh, Jeddah Waterfront and NEOM’s marina.
