Saudi Pro League Eyes Record USD 1.35 Billion Bid for Vinicius Jr.
This offer could make Vinicius Jr. one of the highest-paid athletes in the world.
The Saudi Pro League is reportedly preparing a record-breaking USD 1.35 billion package to secure Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr., potentially setting a new world transfer record.
Backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the Saudi Pro League has been targeting high-profile players and previously attempted to acquire Vinicius ahead of the current season. Earlier negotiations stalled after Real Madrid highlighted the player's USD 1.04 billion release clause.
The proposed offer includes USD 312 million as an initial transfer fee to Real Madrid, which would surpass Neymar Júnior’s EUR 222 million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, the current world record. Additionally, the deal would grant Vinicius USD 1.04 billion tax-free over five seasons, making him one of the highest-paid athletes in the world.
The Pro League’s top clubs are seen as likely destinations for the Brazilian forward, especially after Neymar Júnior’s recent exit from Al-Hilal due to injuries. If finalised, the move would not only elevate Vinicius’ financial status but also solidify his place among global sporting elites alongside names like Cristiano Ronaldo on Forbes' highest-paid athlete lists.
