Saudi Stock Market Sees 12% Growth in Individual Investment Portfolios
The Capital Market Authority reports an increase of over 1.32 million portfolios from 2023.
In the third quarter of 2024, individual investment portfolios in the Saudi stock market grew by 12% compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 12,755,615. This represents an increase of over 1.32 million portfolios from 2023, when the figure stood at 11,434,692.
The total number of investors owning portfolios rose by 7.3% year-on-year, reaching 6,493,676, up by 439,596 investors from 6,054,080 in 2023.
Breaking the numbers down by gender, men accounted for 74.4% of all investors, with 4,830,990 male portfolio owners, reflecting an 8% increase, or 355,277 more investors compared to 4,475,713 in 2023. Female investors made up 25.6% of the total, with 1,662,686 women holding portfolios, marking a 5.3% increase or 84,319 more investors than the previous year.
The data, published by the Capital Market Authority in its quarterly bulletin, highlights the ongoing growth of individual participation in Saudi Arabia’s stock market.
