Sharjah’s Iconic Safeer Mall Closes After 19 Years

Safeer Mall, once a staple shopping destination for residents and expats in Sharjah, has closed its doors after 19 years.

Located on Al Khan Road, the mall opened its doors in 2005, initially starting as a discount center before expanding into a full-fledged shopping complex.

Over the years, it became an iconic landmark for Sharjah residents, offering a wide range of products, from groceries and household items to clothing. Its charm was further enhanced by entertainment offerings, such as surprise dance performances and acrobatic acts, making it a popular spot for families and visitors alike.

For many, Safeer Mall was more than just a shopping center. It served as a second home for residents, especially those who moved to Sharjah in the early 2000s. The mall’s affordability and variety made it a go-to destination for daily shopping, family outings, and special occasions.

The closure of Safeer Mall is a bittersweet moment for many, marking the end of an era for a place that helped shape the memories of countless families over the years. While the building's blue signage has been removed and the mall is no longer operational, its impact on the community remains.
