Sohag University to Establish First Olympic-Class Gym in Upper Egypt

The University of Sohag has announced plans to establish the first international-grade Olympic gymnasium in Upper Egypt. At completion, the gymnasium will be one of five in Egypt eligible to host the Olympic Games.

Built on an area of 8000 metres, the gymnasium’s infrastructure will feature volleyball, basketball and handball courts, as well as squash and hockey facilities.

The project is scheduled for completion in April 2024.
