Stretch of 26th of July Street Shuts Down Daily for 6 Hours
Starting today, 26th of July Street will be closed from 12 AM to 6 AM between 15th of May Bridge and Lebanon Square.

The Giza Traffic Department announced the temporary closure of a section of 26th of July Street, eastbound from the 15th of May Bridge toward Lebanon Square, to allow for construction work on the West Nile Monorail Line connecting Wadi El-Nil to 6th of October City.
The closure will take place in two phases. The first runs from Sunday, August 17th, through the morning of Tuesday, August 19th, while the second is scheduled from Friday, August 22nd, through the morning of Sunday, August 24th. In both phases, the street will be shut daily from midnight until 6 a.m.
Authorities have designated alternative routes to ease congestion. Drivers can divert through Salah Jaheen Street, then turn onto Dr. Hegazy Street before rejoining Wadi El-Nil Street, which links back to 26th of July Street beyond the construction zone. Another option takes motorists from Salah Jaheen Street to Ahmed Orabi Street, then onto Gameat El-Dowal El-Arabia Street and Sudan Street, leading them back toward Lebanon Square.
