Suhoor Meals Provided at Al Azhar Mosque Increased to 3,500
This brings the total number of meals provided daily to 8,500, with 5,000 Iftar meals available to worshippers.
The number of Suhoor meals provided daily by Al Azhar Mosque is set to be increased to 3,500, under the instruction of Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, Sheikh of Al Azhar. This brings the total number of meals provided daily by the institution to 8,500, with 5,000 Iftar meals also available to worshippers. In addition to these numbers, Al Azhar also provides 5,000 meals a day to international students, amounting to 150,000 over the course of Ramadan.
As one of the global centres of Islamic thought, Al Azhar also continues its intensive programme of meetings, readings and prayers. These include 130 readings and 26 post-Tarawih prayers at Al Azhar Mosque, as well as 52 afternoon meetings, taking place across the vast complex.
