Gazans on the ground have had to capture the genocide of their own people and report on the deaths of their loved ones.
During the past three months, Gaza has witnessed unceasing bombardments, targeted attacks, and a military onslaught, resulting in the martyrdom of 1% of its 2.3 million population. The escalating genocide, broadcast live since October 7th, has starkly exposed the assault on Palestinian culture, heritage, narrative, and livelihood persisting for over 75 years.
Palestinians in Gaza have taken on the role of journalists, photographers, archivists and most importantly ‘subjects’ overlooked in global media. Gazans on the ground have had to capture the genocide of their own people and report on the deaths of their loved ones.
90% of the population experiences a full day without food. 1.9 million people to flee due to the destruction of crucial institutions, including health facilities, schools, heritage sites, mosques, and governmental buildings. Journalists and media workers are under specific attack, with at least 82 killed, 16 injured, three missing, and 25 arrested.
One Gazan child loses their life every 10 minutes.
