This Football Tournament Helps Empower Children of Care Homes
The Ministry of Social Solidarity’s ‘Sons of Egypt League’ will feature more than 5,000 players from care homes across Egypt.

The Ministry of Social Solidarity has launched the second edition of the Sons of Egypt League, a football tournament featuring children from care homes across the nation. In partnership with City Club, this year’s competition will see over 5,000 players from 22 governorates compete in the spirit of empowerment, sportsmanship and community.
The competition will be divided into three categories: under 13 years, under 17 years, and from 17 to 21 years. This format ensures equal opportunities for participants and provides a platform for the emergence of new sporting talent.
The governorates have been divided into six regions, with Cairo, Giza, Suez, Damietta, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Fayoum hosting the first round of qualifiers.
