Trump Announces 10-Day Ceasefire in Lebanon
Since the escalation of Israel’s war on Lebanon more than 3,000 have been killed and 700,000 displaced according to UN figures.
US President Donald Trump has announced a proposed 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
According to his statement on Truth Social, the temporary truce would begin following talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
As of now, neither Israeli nor Lebanese officials have formally confirmed the ceasefire. The announcement comes as fighting between Israel and Hezbollah continues to escalate, with large-scale displacement and casualties reported in Lebanon.

The announcement comes after Iran has maintained that any longer-term peace arrangement with the U.S. and Israel must also require a halt to Israeli military operations in Lebanon.
