Turkish-Egyptian Logistics Zone to Boost Regional Infrastructure
A new Turkish logistics industrial zone will be built within the economic zone of Borg El Arab in the Marsa Matrouh governorate.
The Egyptian government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Turkish companies, which entails the establishment of a new Turkish logistics industrial zone within the economic zone of Borg El Arab in the Marsa Matrouh governorate.
The collaborative effort involves various stakeholders, including the Egyptian Group for Multipurpose Terminals, serving as the commercial arm of the Ministry of Transport, as well as the Turkish companies Inventure and Doğuş.
The primary objective of this initiative is to leverage the strategic location of Borg El Arab Port to develop a comprehensive logistics ecosystem. The proposed projects under this partnership include the design, construction, management, and operation of a commercial port, free zones, logistics zones and their integration with the existing railway network.
Additionally, the plan encompasses the establishment of a multi-purpose goods station, a passenger station, a yacht marina and an industrial zone.
